On the Cape...

OK, so where to start? WCapeCod_BradleySurfer.jpgell, hurricane Erika is on my mind cuz she’s near Bermuda with sustained wind speeds of 120 MPH and that means there will be some good swells coming this way by the end of the week. Erika’s gonna treat the whole coast so if you surf, hopefully you caught some. As for the rest of this summer... well, on the CapeCod_Glassy.GIFAtlantic coast anyway it’s been pretty lame. There have been some really fun chest high glassy days and a couple bigger days, a great Friday evening when Tropical storm Danny reformed off the coast of Jersey for a day and then took off to the north-east and left behind overhead swells that were met by off-shore winds.

The next day I was on the road to Cape Cod and caught a smaller but glassy and fun evening at Coast Guard Point. ByCapeCod_SandPoint.GIF (10820 bytes) the way, if you ever get a chance, Cape Cod is worth checking out. If you surf you’ll be stoked to find that there are sand bar points all along the coast that will be killer during a good swell.

If you go to Provincetown, at the tip of the cape, check out the little airport and go for a flight in ‘Willy’ if you can spare $50 for two people. Real cool flight, kindCapeCod_LittleWilly.GIF (6807 bytes)a crazy landing. Theres a drive-in movie theater in Eastham on Route 6 that has double-features for $5.00. There are cool bike trails around so bring your bike and the locals are pretty chill. Lock you’re bike everywhere though.

Sunsets over the bay are killer from the west side of the cape, just like Key West. You can take a ferry from Boston to Provincetown which would be the coolest way to go cuz watch out! Traffic can really suck!! Especially on the weekends, so if you go in the summer try to get there either really early or late at night. Besides hated traffic getting into the Cape, the place is pretty chill so enjoy.
